Our origins
How do you bring together all generations under the same name, while still proudly evoking your roots?
Know where you've come from so you know where you're going.
For local old-timers, it's likely to evoke the nickname of the creator of Palmyr Wind and one of the precursors of kite surfing. For others, it's another affectionate nickname for children.
Loulou, the new wave school s ambition is to pass on to you our passion for surfing and the very best it has to offer.
Respect for the environment and people, humility and perseverance through quality lessons at one of the most popular spots in the department.

I've always been passionate about surfing, but I discovered the pleasure of teaching after a spell in the French education system. Linking my two passions became an obvious choice. I realised that students are like waves: no two are the same and it's up to the instructor to adapt to each one. For me, that's what makes the job so interesting, and I'm not even talking about the surroundings! "Choose a job you love, and you'll never have to work a day in your life" said the wise man. My commitment to you is that the day I no longer have this passion for one thing or another, I'll do something else. Until then, enjoy your visit and I hope to see you soon in the water!

The monitor
Pierre has been surfing for over 20 years on the Côte Sauvage. A state-qualified instructor with a team first-aid diploma, he'll take you to the beach best suited to your level and the conditions of the day, and guide you to the best waves.
To ensure that you can keep an eye on each other, groups are limited to a maximum of 8 students at any one time, in line with the recommendations of the French Surfing Federation.

The spotlight
The spot, situated on the wild coast between the ocean and the pine forest, offers a sumptuous setting for sessions, accessible to all ages and levels, whether for beginners or advanced.
When the sea is too rough for the Côte Sauvage, the Gironde estuary offers a multitude of spots to fall back on, from La Palmyre to Royan. It's a great opportunity for students to discover new spots and learn to surf in a different environment.

The equipment
We provide you with the best equipment available on the market: Rip Curl wetsuits of different thicknesses to keep you warm whatever the season, softech foam boards suitable for young and old, beginners and pro surfers.
The Minibus des Loulous will pick you up and bring you back as close as possible to your home between each surf lesson (only at La Palmyre).
